SPACEBUSTER not able to show for event today! 2012.07.26

SPACEBUSTER will not be available for the event today near The HIPP restaurant however Umami Moto, Midtown Representatives and HIPP will be open/there for discussions about MidTown and the E.55th Bridge project!

From the CUDC twitter:

We're so sorry to announce this, but the SPACEBUSTER is busted! Well, it had some "issues" with the New York City DMV and won't be able to make it to Cleveland tomorrow. Although the SPACEBUSTER won't be there, you should still come down and grab lunch at The Hipp and Umami MotoMidTown Cleveland, Inc. staff will also set up displays of current projects underway in the area and you can share your ideas for transforming the E. 55th Bridge (I hear coloring book pages will be available to help gather your design concepts.) Hope to see you tomorrow for lunch - same time, but less inflatable plastic. Thanks! (5000 Euclid Avenue, 7/26, 11am-2pm)

SPACEBUSTER, fabricated by raumlaborberlin is probably more then just a large positive pressure plastic bag hanging out the back of a truck, it can be whatever you make of it, and that is mostly the point.  Our urban spaces are designed to be used (or should be) but it is up to us potential users to actually activate the dang things.  Whether appropriately or not can be determined by people smarter and more judgmental than myself.  SPACEBUSTER is traveling the world, appropiating urban spaces by creating some sort of controlled environment for events to take place and is currently on its way from sunny Flint, Michigan to Brooklyn, New York.

This Thursday SPACEBUSTER will be resting up in Cleveland for a day in the parking lot adjacent to The Hipp (in the Agora) where one can visit and relax inside while eating lunch from Umami Moto Food Truck or The Hipp next door.  Presentations about MidTown and the Euclid Corridor will be ongoing and representatives from MidTown Cleveland will be available for feedback, input and congratulations.

The Facespace page has some more info, if you are into that sort of thing.
