About the Forum:
The consulate of Italy in Detroit, the Levin College Forum Program and the Maxine Goodman Levin College of Urban Affairs are please to present Alessandro Coppola, author of Apocalypse Town. Mr. Coppola will discuss his research into urban shrinkage and revitalization efforts in Detroit, Youngstown, Philadelphia, New York and Cleveland.

Special introduction by Steven Litt, Art and Architecture Critic, The Plain Dealer

About the Author:
Alessandro Coppola is a post-doc fellow in the Department of Planning and Architecture at Politecnico di Milano where he teaches Urban Ethnography in Master Planning. Mr. Coppola was an International Fellow in Urban Studies at John Hopkins University.

Come ring in the New Year with an unbelievable array of “creative resolutions” brought to you by PechaKucha Night Cleveland and the Museum of Contemporary Art Cleveland!

On Friday, January 11th,  2013 PKN Cleveland is partnering with MOCA to bring you 12 brand new presentations! For those that have already seen the building, you won’t want to miss these presentations. For those that haven’t had a chance to see the BRAND NEW museum building, this evening is a great chance to see both the building and the presentations!

W2S 2014 Call for Artists deadline approaching - Jan. 6th!

 
 
THE SCULPTURE CENTER IS PLEASED TO ANNOUNCE THAT W2S, OUR KEYSTONE EXHIBITION SERIES, IS NOW OPEN TO EARLY CAREER SCULPTORS OF OUR ENTIRE REGION.

THE REGION 
Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, Kentucky, West Virginia, western Pennsylvania (the western half of the state), western New York (Rochester and west) and Ontario, Canada.

THE EARLY CAREER ARTIST
The sculptor, installation artist, or expanded media artist must have a connection to the region by birth, residency, or schooling, but does not need to be currently residing in the region. By the application deadline (January 2013), the sculptor must have completed his/her schooling, apprenticeship or period of equivalent self-taught experience and be no more than ten years into h/her career. Submitted images should be of sculpture, installation or other expanded media that indicates current work and, if possible, the nature of the proposed W2S exhibition. The W2S artworks or installations may not have been previously exhibited in northeastern Ohio. The creation of a new or further developed body of work for the W2S series is encouraged and preferable.   

THE DEADLINE 
Sunday, January 6, 2013, at midnight!
